Writer’s Block?

by tim on March 2, 2009

I’ve been meaning to post at least once a week in BeThumbed but I somehow did not get to it… Until now when I got the FuelMyBlog newsletter and a post caught my eye.

Clearing Writer’s Block
The causes and cures
There are generally three levels of block encountered by writers and other creatives.
All are relatively easily curable – permanently.

Of the three types, I definitely am of the second type:
The second type of block is when life just gets in the way.

I have a lot of things to do, trying to beat project deadlines, taking care of the kids, managing our lives day to day that writing has to take the back seat. I used to write a lot, I always keep a journal handy for those unexpected bursts of inspiration. I used to write a lot of poems, in fact, I have written a lot of them, more than I can keep track of. But I could no longer remember the last time I wrote one…

Writing was my outlet before, I am not the emotional type – I don’t go about crying on every shoulder I encounter. Am not really into that “show me how you feel” hype… Writing helped me a lot and somehow that outlet has been taken away from me – not because I intended to but because life snuck up on me and I did not have the temerity to stop it, not even to notice what was happening – until now.

I would love to get back on track and I think I’ll give the ebook mentioned in the FuelMyBlog blog called: Wordlube – writer’s block removal in 5 days a chance. It might not be too late for me…
