Taking a break
I have been working online for over 3 years and in all that time I have never taken time off without actually doing any kind of online work. So, for the Holy Week I decided to take at least a day or two off without touching my laptop. We went to Patag in Silay City, Negros Occidental for a communion with nature. We brought our two year old daughter, Khleomi Helen, with us but left our baby boy, Xanth Reign, in my parent’s house because he was not feeling well enough to travel long distance. Together with my younger brother, older sister and her husband, we borrowed our dad’s car, gathered our tents and drove to Patag for an overnight stay. The cool weather gave us the much needed respite from the unforgiving heat in the city. We took a dip in the ice cold waters, Khleomi lasted all of 15 minutes. She was shivering from cold and having a great time but I have to take her out of the water lest she catch cold.
It was her first time to go camping, see the forest, share a bonfire dinner and it was a joy seeing her so happy, running around, she even got her first glimpse of a firefly. My only regret was that we were not able to bring Xanth Reign with us. I know he would love to run around the camping site as well… We are planning on going back there with a bigger tent sometime this year and I am bringing my whole family with me.
Patag is a great place, we had a lot of fun and saw some exciting things. We got to see remnants of Japanese machine guns, the Japanese Shrine, beautiful golden full moon, and the precious smile on my daughter’s face among other things. It was great not to think about work even for just a day, to just enjoy and have fun. I was not able to take a lot of pictures I forgot to bring our digital camera and my sister forgot to charge hers, so I just used my trusty K800i. All in all it was a very good holiday.
