Precious minutes, precious Wub Yu’s

An iPod for a short post, very tempting. The peeps over at FuelMyBlog together with TSheets are sponsoring a contest where I might win an iPod. Very tempting, indeed.

I am quite wary of contests, as contests go most of them are just scams trying to get a free review for nothing (its just the pessimist in me talking). But people are gullible, why else would people line up in lotto outlets, pay PHP 10 for 6 numbers with an impossible probability of winning? Why else am I writing this post? Because like everyone else, I would like to have a shot, a chance, maybe by some fluke of fate I might get lucky.

So, I did what the contest entails. I went over to TSheets, signed up for a personal account and I am now the lucky owner of a Tsheets account found at https://jpalmes.tsheets.com/. First impressions lasts, but such is not always the case when it comes to website, so I did what every designer does, I checked out the site, analyzed how it will appeal to the general public, particularly to, shall I say, “technology-challenged” people. So far, I am impressed, the way they present their frontpage is particularly appealing and very user friendly. I love their color scheme, the way everything compliment each other.

I logged in to my account and checked out the features, they offer free accounts for personal use. Business accounts go for $9.95/month. Not bad for the features they are offering. I like the ajaxy feel of the admin panel, the draggable elements and the way everything is presented upfront. I am currently using a freshbooks account, but if TSheets offer me the same if not more functionalities, I just might consider transferring. I’ll try it out for some projects and will let you know how it goes.

There goes my answer for question letter a. For question letter b: What do you do in the first 5 minutes of your working day?

The precious first five minutes of my working day, which I guess is everyday… I wake up when I wake up and the first thing I do is check if my two babies are up, usually they are and most often than not they are trying to wake me up asking for their morning bottle of milk. Xanth will say “Meme, wub yu,” then kiss me then demand for his milk. Khleomi will do the same, she will kiss me, hug me and ask for her milk. It usually takes around 2-3 minutes for them to down their milk and then stand up and demand to open the door so that they can go out of our room. I then spend a few moments to thank the Lord for another wonderful day, turn my laptop on, wash my face and make coffee in that order. And I am set for work. Such is my daily routine and thus the most precious minutes of my entire day. A single “wub yu” from my babies are more than enough to help me get through any challenge for the day.

So there you have it folks, my entry for the contest. To learn more about it, click here.
