Sorry to hear about that. Btw, what browser were you using? Coz most likely if it was Mozilla Firefox, it would have detected that it was a phishing site and could’ve warned you about it.
I’ve received lots of phishing emails including several pretending to be from PayPal. You can read about it here and here

I had the same email last week and nearly clicked on it. Lucky i checked the out going url. Also it was late as well and i was way sleepy
Lucky you. It was a very convincing email especially if you have a lot on your mind like I did.
