I should have blogged this last night but didn’t… A few years back I blogged about a mild earthquake in Iloilo where I almost fell off my chair out of surprise and last night at 10:48PM we had another earthquake and it was way stronger than before. The earthquake measured at 4.3 Magnitude whose epicenter was in Iloilo City shooked our house and woke my kids up. I was talking with a client during that time so imagine my surprised when the earthquake shook us up. Anyway, below is a news snippet from Inquirer Online:
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the moderate tremor that hit at 10:48 p.m., according to a bulletin of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology issued at 11:18 p.m.
The quake which lasted at least 20 seconds sent customers of coffee shops, bars and restaurants out of buildings. Employees of call centers also went out of their offices. Radio stations in Iloilo were flooded with text messages and calls from residents of Iloilo, Guimaras and Negros Occidental who were roused from their sleep by the tremor.
The epicenter of the earthquake of tectonic origin was located at 10.71 degrees north, 122.52 degrees east, 3 kilometers north and 77 degrees west of Iloilo City, the Phivolcs bulletin said.
