Logo Making - the easy way

As a web designer, logo making is part of my work. Designing the layout of a website is pretty easy compared to designing a logo. Logo design is a very delicate process as it must conform to what the client’s business is about. You can’t just give them a logo without giving it careful consideration, everything has to be perfect with regards to what the client needs. You have to have insight so that you will be able to see beforehand how people will react to the logo when they see it. Will your logo reflect your client’s business in one glance? Will it be worth a second glance?

Needless to say, logo making is a very hard process for the inexperienced. So being inexperienced, I browsed the web for some help, the angels must be smiling on me because I was able to find a DIY Logo Design site. I tried it for the logo of my father’s construction business and this is what I came up:

JLZ Logo

The process was straightforward and very easy to follow. And there are a number of great symbols/images to choose from, enough to get your creative juices flowing.

Cuff Links - A Gentleman’s Pride

I have always been fascinated by cufflinks. Honestly, I do not personally know anyone who uses it. I have seen men wearing gold cufflinks on TV and most of the time they are of the so-called genteel race. They are dashing men, ready to sweep any female off their feet with their smile, words and those ever present cufflinks.

So, I researched the price of cufflinks, those little gems, and was properly aghast (aghast may be too strong a word, but I am feeling a bit melodramatic at the moment.). The price tag on those little devils is enough to feed my family for a month and more! Who would, in their right minds, buy those things when a simple pin would do? MEN!

They do look good though and add a bit of decency to a man’s personality and looks. Women and their jewelry - Men and their cufflinks.

I am allergic to metal and use plastic jewelry, so no jewelry for me and no expensive cufflinks for my husband. Fair Enough.

Take a breather

I have been up to my neck in deadlines lately and have had a really hard time trying to keep up with all my tasks. I have barely enough time to play with the little angels and so little time to myself and it seems like 24 hours a day is never enough. The only times I am not in front of a computer is when I am sleeping and eating. No wonder, my trusty laptop is slowly sliding to death. It has crashed twice over the week and although I have managed to resuscitate it back to life, it’s only a matter of time before it will eventually die. It is still under warranty so I have to go to Manila to have it repaired before my warranty runs out by August.

My laptop, my workhorse is about to give up. I have been neglecting myself, my health and I do not want to wait for the time when my body finally gives up. So starting tomorrow, I am going to take it easy. I am going to take a breather. I am going to let my laptop take a breather. It may be too late for my trusty laptop but not for me and anyway, late is better than never.

Tomorrow. Not yet today, I need to finish something. But tomorrow is untouchable. Tomorrow, I take a breather. Tomorrow, my laptop takes a breather.
